COUNSELING

I believe in nurturing dynamic relationships with God, self, others, and creation–-relationships that allow you to be who and what you were created to be. My approach is casual with a focus on the elements and emotions of what you bring to session and the relationships in which there has been harm or misunderstanding. Together we will journey through your stories, past and present, to uncover the pieces that will form a meaningful future. Ideal clients include (but not limited to):

         *Couples struggling to connect emotionally
                     includes AS/NT relationships
         *Those facing grief
         *Those struggling through life transitions
*Those seeking deep connection with God
         *Parents of teen/adult LGBTQ+ children

INDIVIDUALS OR COUPLES IN NEURODIVERSE/ NEUROTYPICAL RELATIONSHIPS

Finding yourself in a relationship where emotional connection is NOT the norm and angry outbursts or shutdowns are common can lead to hopelessness and even divorce.
There are ways to connect if both spouses are willing.
There is support if one spouse is not willing.

GRIEF and LOSS

Grief takes time. We are told to get over our loss and move on, but that is the worst advice ever. Our losses are real, and what or who was lost remain  with us forever. We must create a new normal while we honor our loss.
In the Gap is a safe place to process these ideas and begin to heal.

"The reality is that you will grieve forever. You will not 'get over' the loss of a loved one; you will learn to live with it. You will heal and you will rebuild yourself around the loss you have suffered.
You will be whole again but you will never be the same.
Nor should you be the same nor would you want to."
- Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

PARENTS OF LGBTQ+
ADULT SONS & DAUGHTERS

The world is difficult enough for our teens and adult children. Throw into the mix sexual orientation and gender identity questions, and relationships can get pretty dicey. At In the Gap, we want to see parents and their LGBTQ+ sons and daughters find love and acceptance in honest and dynamic relationship with one another--even when basic values and beliefs are wildly different. We do NOT ask that these values and beliefs change. Our desire is to help relationships to  be managed in ways that promote unity.

"I LOVE to read your writing. You have a way of wrapping the raw in beautiful words, but it's not fluff. It reminds me of God covering our brokenness with His love." KL
"CommonBond class has helped me with finding myself, my sobriety, my faith and has helped me to find out how to further advance myself with school, job searches and to take worth in myself and my self-esteem." Participant
